Oh dear, you are going to love this answer. They were paperdolls. We especially liked Brenda Starr, and could cut fashions for her out of the Sunday Minneapolis Tribune or Chicago Times.

plasticman you could stretch that S. O. B.'s arms out about 8' seeing that his arms only were about 10" long,, and you could do the same w. his legs,,, we used to get a group of us as kids, and make a giant letter X,,, ,, also,, darth vadar ,, because he stood for everything,,, the darkness w/in us,, the powers we all wanted to possess and the coolest spaceship around,,,, and the most awesome costume as well,,,, in the 80s the hulk was cool,,,
