I would bump the Moon a lot closer and toss in some glassy rock to provide more color. I would make it's orbit more elliptical so that on certain nights, you could just about reach upward and touch it. Maybe I would add a little moonlet that orbits the Moon...just for that added excitement.

Wouldn't change a thing in the sky.

I would make light pollution illegal, so we can see it again, as we could when those of us who are over 60 were children.

No metal vapor or metal halide lights. No parking lot lights or lighted signs after 11:00 pm. No lights anywhere that could be seen higher than 20 degrees below the horizon. Illegal to shine a light that can be seen outside your own property. Things like that. Then we would have the sky we have got, again.

I will offer a modest answer. I used to live in Alaska. I have seen the Northern Lights many times and they are beautiful. If I could, I would have them dance in the sky for everyone to see on occasion and marvel at.

I wouldnt change the night sky much, just put in the lines so we know where all the constellations are!
all we need to really change is light pollution from towns, then the night sky would be so much more spectacular!
