Are you supposed to simply write the names or the formulas too?
Calcium +oxygen --> calcium oxide
2Ca + O2 --> 2CaO (balanced stoichiometrically)

Sodium +Sulfur --> Sodium Sulfide
2Na + S --> Na2S

Aluminum +Chlorine --> Aluminum Chloride
2Al + 3Cl2 --> 2AlCl3

The balanced equations account for typical oxidation states and also the fact that oxygen and chlorine are both found in the diatomic (molecular) state when free.
