I was writing a book also. I came to a wall. The story stopped moving. I showed it to everyone who would actually take the time to look at. They would read it, say it was great, then ask why I hadn't finished it. This isn't what I wanted to hear. I need someone who wouldn't ask but tell me to get going with it. I need a motivational coach.

Here's what I read. You have to write something. I mean something, a word, a sentence, a paragraph, or a page, each and every day. This is the beginning of the discipline. Once you've started and the juices really start flowing you won't want to be confined to your daily set amount. You'll feverishly wail away at your keyboard (type writer) and never look back.

I'm here answering questions instead of finishing that book. I better heed my own advice.

Good for you. I wish my mind was racing. Start jotting down notes. Write down the setting, time and place, summary of the plot, who the characters are what they want what's getting in their way, how they overcome the obstacles. Ask yourself questions and jot down the answers. When you have a lot of notes, make a general outline. Figure out what's going to happen when. Figure out what is going to cause what to happen. Plan on being in it for the long haul. You'll be amazed at how many details you will have to work out. Don't stress yourself. Have fun with it.

My biggest problem when writing is too many ideas. So i carry a small notebook everywhere i go and write down all my ideas for the story. relax and read a book and then go back to it, this will calm your ideas. The notebook idea also helps with outlining which i absolutely can not do.

Don't freak. Your mind is racing. That's a clue and a good indicator. Eat apples, take it easy. Take breaks. Do it on your own. You'll wind up rejecting outside input as inferior as it certainly will be. Don't be scared. It is kinda spooky. You can do this. Don't freak. Drop me an e - mail. No I ain't gonna do it for you. Just tell you the symptoms. Get with it.

make a general outline so you can get some of your thoughts on paper and to clear your mind up so you can really write! Good luck and I think it is awesome you are writing a book!

stay away stress it doesn't help just relax and write down all your ideas and put them in to complete thoughts think if it as writing a paragraph and soon the paragraphs will turn into pages and the pages will eventually turn into a book just take it slow

Don't write until you calm down. If you can't calm down, then you've got some other kind of problem. Get that out of the way, then think about rational writing.
