I am doing at home college work and I had a year to finish 17 Lessons. I have only done 4 1/2 in 5 months, so I have 7 months to finish it. What is a good way to manage my time so that I can study?

Dawn C, Both groups of grandparents live in new mexico and I am in Kansas. I would ask the neighbors to help, but they are all in their 60's to 90's. One is actually a Pearl Harbor survivor, which is cool.

reesie271, Good idea to do it after everyone is either down for the night or taken care of. I wish I drank coffee tho. I will have to try that again. The other times I tried it, I was just so put out that I couldn't keep my mind on the reading. I am planning on doing that tonight tho. I am actually giving my boy a bath at this time. Wire less net and a laptop are great. LOL

rivyabrig..., my child, oddly, only takes a 20-30 min nap, and I use that time to shower. A 2 year old is HARD work. I have a new respect for all mothers now. LOL

I understand that being a housewife and mother takes up most of your time, I am both and in school too (advanced nursing degree) I also work. What I do is arrange a play date or outing with family at least 3x per week for 2 to 3 hours each time to give me time to study, the other thing that I do is study after kids are in bed and hubby is taken care of. Mine understands when I hand him the remote, give him a kiss and disappear for an hour or so to the library or bedroom. He is great though and will help out around the house if Im really backed up.

I am a single parent of three and I have the same problem at times. Here's what I do at times. I study at night. If dad is home during the night put your son to bed at a certain bed time and then leave home and study. I live near the U of I campus and go study on the campus along with others who do so at the same time. However, this requires a discipline and a couple of naps during the day. Can you get the grandparents, godparents, younger cousins, a teen, to commit to a couple of hours a day or week. I had a teen babysit for 5 dollars an hour twice a week.

I hear ya! I had the same problem. Are your parents near by? Can Grandma/Grandpa come and babysit for a short while? Does the baby take a long nap? Can you find a neighbor who would swap time with you, you watch her child/ren, she watches yours. College and baby are rough, I know, but I was lucky I had my parents as well as in laws close. I would try to study while the child naps.

Try doing your work when your child is napping, or if when he is with your partner. You can spend the time with your son while you are doing chores, like laundry and he/she can help.

I dunno you just have to find time. I do the same thing with my two year old....I go to school at home and you have to get them doing something for like an hour....a nap, a movie, art project....etc... its hard but it can be done

good luck

You must do your work when your child is napping.
