The problem with painting roof shingles is that the paint would flake of in about a month or so, and the roof would have to be replaced within a year. The heat that the tar on the shingles would cause the paint to weaken very quickly. I would suggest that you not do it. It would cause you a lot of lost money. I would suggest that you buy shingles in a color that you like. I like the green. It also doesn't generate as much heat as the darker colors.

I had Shingles for the first time a few weeks ago. I am normally in good health and haven't had any other health challenges before, so it came as a surprise.

Shingles is probably the most painful thing I have ever encountered. I went to the doctor, and he gave me some prescription drugs to take that was suposed to help, but didn't.

My wife found the Fast Shingles Cure ebook online and bought it for me, I am very lucky to have such a wonderful woman in my life. We followed the book, did what it said, and it delivered what it promised. Finally my Shingles rash is over... I feel truly blessed and thankful.

Not sure why you would want to do this. First it would be hard trying to cover the rough surface and the sun would dry and crack the paint which would defeat the purpose. It would end up not looking so good and the time and money spent could be used to have someone to put a new roof on for you.

A company out of Miami known as Somay Products, Inc., http://www.somay.com, has a very informative web site about painting in general. One product they market is a roof coating called Roof Mastic, which they claim will do everything for your roof except paint itself on! You can contact the company as to the availability of the product in your area, or maybe you can order direct. Let me know your experience with this product if you decide to try it.

no reason why you can't except the only color that won't bleed thru is aluminimimimim. black might work, tho. forget any other color. i used to paint roof jacks and vents an sometimes when i painted the roof by accident it would turn black right away. you could always use trailer/rv roof paint. thats got tar in it and is silver colored. gotta tell you paint won't last tho and then you'll have an awful mess.

I believe that the only time roofs are painted are when they are metal. Otherwise, bad idea. Just like "washing" the algae and mold off a roof is a bad a idea.

no they sell them in a varity of colors though and i dont think the paint would stay very well as the shingles leach quite a bit of oil as they are an oil based product
