Well the new Tivo series 3 that just came out retails for $799.99 and you can buy it from bestbuy or circuit city. The older series 2 that has a little less recording space and dosen't record high definition costs between $0 to $300 but if you want one of those tivo.com is running a special for an entry level tivo for free with a years paid subscription to the tivo monthly service. The monthly service is $14.95. Hope that helps! Oh you can also score a used tivo, or a new one for that matter on eBay for less that you would shell out at the store.

I got a reconditoned series 2 on special for $150.00, and it works great.
