this one guy came into a lesbian room saying its wrong to be gay and everything and after awhile he told why he did that, it was because a girl he really liked and wanted to date was a lesbian and he could not have her. people say being gay is wrong because somthing had to happen to them..maybe they wanted somone they coould not have...and thats why. What you all think?

People who bash gays have major problems. Maybe being rejected by a person that might of been gay or a lesbian might of been an added problem to their actions, but there are far too many reasons to why people do what they do when they bash gays.

I'm what you would call straight, but I think people that bash gays is because they are secretly jeolous. Because they had enough guts to come out of the closet.
People are born that way, not molded into it. It has nothing to do with being turned down by the oppisite sex, if that were true, then wouldn't more people be gay since everyone gets their heart broken at one point or another.

I don't think any group is bashed more than others - but the gay community has taken it upon itself to castigate anyone who has an opinion differing from theirs - thus the get more "noise" than other groups who are bashed.
Remember the outcry that Catholics had when an "artist" put a crucifix in a bottle of urine and called it art - they were told that they just "didn't understand" art - no, it was blaspheme, but since Catholics don't have enough clout, the art show went on. I can guarantee you that if this were done to a certain Islamic group, there would be a very different response and it would have been immediately pulled.

girlwhoknowsitstrue, that statement is false as hell! Groups in the minority do get "bashed" on more than the majority. And the "bashing" that happens is MUCH MUCH MUCH more significant if it is against a minority group. Thank you and have a nice day.
Towards the original question, people are just morons and don't know where to direct their anger so they choose a group of people (homosexuals in this case) and direct their anger at that group. Then there are other people who are just ignorant,

Some people bash gays for religious reasons which I find sort of funny because in those same religions you are supposed to "love thy neighbor".
Some people bash gays because they fear what they don't understand or they are simply afraid or have some deeper issue.
I think it is mean to judge anyone and hate crimes totally make me sick!

oh, I'm sure this is one of the many reasons for their irrational hatred.
some have been taught to hate by their equally bigoted/hateful parents.
some are in denial of their own sexuality.
some are just ignorant.
some, like you said, are bitter because they found out someone they wanted didn't want them.
some are jealous.
some watch too much porn with "fake" lesbians...and really believe that we'd let them watch...much less join in! we're lesbians because we're attracted to women...not men! (and no, we don't hate men, either). unless they are bisexual and/or into threesomes...it ain't gonna happen, dudes!

i think your right, but i think there is allot more to it than just that, i know growing up before i admitted to myself that i was gay, that i would gay trash verbally, some people bash because they are gay themselves, some bash because they are just insecure with themselves, and some do it to make themselves fill better about themselves, some do it because of religion, there are too many reasons to explain here, hope this helps

Or maybe they do it because it's no longer okay to discriminate against minorities or to shun interracial couples.
Frankly, I don't know why they do it and I don't care. It was wrong when they tried to stop women from getting the vote, it was wrong when they tried to keep blacks from getting equal rights, and it's wrong now.

Different people, different reasons. My reason is because it disgusts me, it not natural, and, well, to me it's just wrong! But you don't see me in the streets beating up gays w/ a stick. Then again, you don't know me. But why should I do that? Even if I don't like homosexuality, it doesn't mean I can't like the person. And besides, I don't like the idea of violence. It's also against my religion, but that's not what REALLY makes me not like homosexuality (notice I didn't say homosexuals). Hope you understand, and gays, no offense!

1) Because the society forcefed lies to them
2) because they might be homosexual themselves and were scared
3) because they're religious bigot homophobes
4) they were scared of something they never knew about.
