I have been told and have noticed that a lot of women go into labor when its the full moon. Has anyone here gone into labor on a full moon? I have also heard that lots of women go into labor when its storming because of a decrease in the barometric pressure?

I was also told about the full moon! I am 38 weeks and everyone is telling me I am going to go into labor on the 7th, because of the full moon. I have never heard before this about that.

This is an old wives tale & one that's fairly easy to check. Hospital records show absolutely no increase in the number of births during a full moon.

It's also easy to understand how moon-myths come to be so easily believed. People simply tend to notice a full moon, and the moon appears "full" for a couple days before and after it actually is full. Even if a hospital had exactly one birth each day of the month, people would REMEMBER seeing a full moon for three or four days -- while people whose children were born when the moon wasn't full aren't likely to remember it. So more people would recall that the moon was full when their child was born.

Maybe, the moon effects water flow. Storms could trigger the baby to go into labor by the storm energy. I was born during a blizzard.
