How to search for a person's birth--or the birth of their child?

I'm trying to find out if one of my friends (whom I lost contact with and cannot get in touch with) has had a baby. How would I do this for free? Or how would I locate them/their address, etc for free? Any good websites?

try this one out(http://www.1837online.com/HomeServlet) and then go to ~ what would you like to do today~ click on what your looking for then type the name in.......if not google it and you'll find alot of websites out there
