Why do cons blame the media on our loses in Iraq? They say the media is biased and is creating an anti-war sentiment. I think the current administration in the White House is doing more than the media ever could to create a negative impression of war in the minds of Americans. With a total lack of real strategy and an illegitimate reason for invading Iraq in the first place, the gov't has shown as why war is such a bad idea.
As for the media, sure they play Democrat soundbytes all the time, atleast they say something new each time. The cons stick to the same old garbage about victory being the only option and everything is going to plan in Iraq. You can't pretty up war, and the voters want to see what good the deaths of their children and spouses is doing. The cons say the media is not showing enough of the good things, like biulding schools and creating a gov't in Iraq. What good is a school when the children dont dare leave their homes? What good is a powerless Iraqi government?

The complaints of a liberal media bias started really with the Nixon administration. If you're aware, you'd know that most of the people getting out of journalism school and landing jobs in the media institutions were young people who came up during the 1960s and many of them had the same sentiments as the radicals on campus then. They then brought their biases to their jobs and many saw it as their mission to bring down the Nixon administration.
Continuing on many of these same folk remained liberals watching shows like 60 Minutes and idolizing people ike Dan Rather saw it as their mission to attack coporations, wealthy people, conservatives, religious people, white southerners, high ranking military officials, ie their idea of who the "rich and powerful" were/are. They feel it their mission to stand up for the "little guy" whoever he is. When you go out with such an agenda then you are gonna very likely raise the ire of conservatives and Republicans.
If the media with the same zeal liked to put, blacks, women, gays, atheists, homeless people, union leaders, etc on the spot then you'd be having liberals crying foul at the media. The media should NEVER advocate on anyone's behalf, that's not their job! The free press is to act as a watchdog, but no matter where you go to look for the definition of the word "watchdog" interested participant will not surface.
Its funny, for a brief time during the Monica Lewinski episode, some liberal supporters tried to cry that there was a conservative bias in the media citing that these media corporations were huge and wealthy. That however doesn't make them automatically conservative, not when 100% of the corporate donations go to the Democrats! What I contribute that to is that since the early 1970s, much of the press corps has greyed and many of these guys and gals have college age daughters and started to think "wow, I wonder who my daughter works for, and if it is a he, how is he treating her?"

How do you know the "cons" say the same thing all the time? You hear them saying it over again on the News? How do you know the Iraqi government is "powerless"? Hear it on the News?

they only blame the "liberal media" when something negative is being said about the president or the republican party, ex. "The path to 9/11" is critical of Clinton, do you hear any whining about the "liberal media" and "The path to 9/11"? nope.
