I just heard about the school shooting in the Amish community. That is the 3rd one this week. Are people angerier now than they were 50 years ago? Why are they so angry? Why do they take the lives of innocent children? I just don't understand. Is there anything we can to do keep our kids safe?

Well, have you ever heard of the phrase, garbage in, garbage out?
In this society, we've gone from self-respecting, honorable, peace abiding, to a society where rappers scream obscenity-lyrics, drug dealers, gay rights, and even the church is suspect.
There's no more honor, and if you do something wrong, a lawyer will prove you're still innocent, your dog or your parents did something wrong.
Heck, if a truck hits you for walking in front of it, some lawyer will sue on your behalf.
There's no more responsibility, ethics, and what was once considered taboo, is now considered commonplace.
There's a way back from the abyss....but the media, that profits on violence, sex, and drugs, and the liberals, who bash religons, won't let the right rein in on the chaos.

Yeah, I just saw it on CNN.
It's weird how these things always seem to come in waves, almost as if the planetary alignment affects all those who are ready to snap at the same time.
Probably people are angrier, because there is so much more complexity to life these days. The anger is intense and burning, and the only way they feel able to satisfy it is to do something that society would see as an atrocity. Killing Innocent children is hard to top in terms of shock value.
It said that the guy in this case was harbouring a grudge for something like twenty years, and that there was no real reason for him to have chosen that particular school, other than convenience. He also let all the boys go before tying up the girls and shooting them all.
And, finally, the only hope that we may have had of making sense of it all, was lost when he put a bullet in his own head.

It sounds like this guy Roberts was scheduled for a random drug test today. Looks like he would have failed and lost his job as a truck driver. He also called his wife from the schoolhouse and said he was doing it as revenge for something that happened 20 years ago but no one is revealing what that something was.

I think that we need at least a few people in the school that are carrying guns to protect the kids. There was a guard at Columbine that kept the shooters in the Library, otherwise it would have been much worse.

people are meaner now than they were 30,20, years ago. the government to the power to disapline children away from the parents for one. people stopped spanking their children. The u.s.a. run God out of the country, and schools. taking the lives of the children is a way to rebel against God. It is written in the Bible that is better for a person to tie a mill stone around the neck and throw it into the deepest part of the ocean than to harm the little ones.I am not a christian. I am not spiritual. but I am not stupid either. people know what is going on, but they have given up on trying to keep the kids in hand.

People have always been angry -- as long as there have been people. What is different is the easy access to weapons like guns that can kill many people at a time and very easily. Used to be if someone wanted to kill people, it was a lot harder. Because of the gun nuts that mis-interpret the second amendment, any doofus -- including nuts that are bent on killing people -- can easily get a gun and do lots of damage. Yet those same people will take no responsibility for horrible things like this. Sad. And wrong!

the ppl who do that stuff are just mentally ill and need help. They are molded out of abusive families and todays sin. It is sad that this world is coming to the end so rapidly but us christians can at least be comforted by the thought of heaven when we die.

Now that we are on the topic of shootings and religion I have a question. Fellow Christians, would you be willing to die for Christ? I dont need an answer, thus the reason im not posting a question but think about it........ Like that one girl some years ago.....deep thoughts huh?

I agree. There was a school shooting in Ontario, then the Amish one, then there was one in Colorado, the one where the kid shot his principle, and I think there were two more but I can't remember the details. What's going on now?

OMG....I know! Why shoot up an Amish school? All those people want is to be left alone. They don't bother anyone. Apparently, it had something to do with something that happened 20 years ago!! Talk about holding a grudge!
