How do i get into the evolution cave!?

Question

I got rid of squirtle, and it still tells me (the evolve cave) that only one can enter! i just don't get it!

go into the menu and choose team. double check that only one name is there, and that it's the particular one that you want to evolve.

if there's another name, perhaps a third person that you couldn't see since only the leader and the original partner ever are visible in town, choose them, and then tell them to standby

if it still doesn't let you in, leave town and go to a friend area, just to get out of the town area. reenter and go to the stone, you should be able to get in now
