Not much you can do but rest. Your body is growing a whole new organ - and baby - and it just takes a toll. Things typically start to settle down between the 12th and 14th weeks and you won't feel so horribly tired. Hang in there!

Listen to your body! Rest as much as you can. You are tired because your body is manufacturing a new little life. A big job! You will feel better soon, the tired wears off around the 2nd trimester and does not come back until the very end. Just try to eat a good diet- don't skip meal! And rest when you can. I tought preschool when I pregnant with my first, and when nap time would come, I was laying down with the kids (even if my shift was over and all I had to do was drive home) A 30 minute snooze in the afternoon was a big help. Pick up takeout, let the dust collect and don't sweat it. You will feel like yourself soon. Congrats!

Your body is working serious overtime...most of the actual "development" occurs in the first trimester! After that, it's just gaining size and strength. That's why at 12 weeks you'll see a form on ultrasound that looks like a baby and not a blob.
Try planning for at least an hour more sleep at night and take it easy. Keep taking vitamins and avoid excessive sugar, caffeine and nicotine. If you can, eat a quick lunch and grab a quick nap at lunchtime to help give you a second wind for the rest of the afternoon. The second trimester and probably the first part of the third should be easier until you start getting "well rounded" and then you'll have to start taking it easy on yourself again.
Good luck and CONGRATULATIONS!!!

There is ALOT changing in your body in the first trimester. Relax. Rest. The mess will be fine. Enlist your family and friends to help you out. You will start getting energy again in a few more weeks. Just make sure you are eating and keeping some of it down and take your vitamins. It will pass and then return in late pregnancy so just make the most of all of it. You are growing your baby!!! Good luck!

Not a lot you can do but to get lots of rest when you can. You are tired because your body is in overdrive, working so hard to grow a baby, your hormones are in high gear and you are increasing your blood supply. I remember being so exhausted that i would go to bed for the night at 5pm! It will get better and just think...in 30 weeks or so you will have a miracle!

Its your body working extra hard to make your baby grow for the first several weeks the baby doubles in size every week. I know what you mean I am finally down to one nap a day now. Just make sure you take your vitamins and that will help it. Good luck

I call it progesterone poison. The high levels of progesterone needed to sustain the baby until the placenta is formed (10-14 weeks) causes severe exhaustion. The only thing I can compare it to is motion sickness or jet lag. I feel for you sister, and I promise you it will get better.
