I think that people just tend to want things they can't have just because they "can't" have it. But does it make it better? No way...

For some people, it's a psychological reaction. Things that are limited to them are better. In the case with the mom and the lobster, I'm sure she'd like it even if she couldn't eat it.

As far as junk food goes, it is laden with fats and sweeteners that appeal to the taste receptors. Creating food is now a science.

Subjectively, perhaps.

"The person called Folly is loud.
She is undisciplined and without knowledge.
She calls out to those who pass by,
'Let those who are simple come here!'
To those who lack judgment, she says,
'Stolen water tastes sweet;
and bread eaten in secret is delicious!'
Little do they know that the dead are with her.
Her guests end in the grave." Proverbs ch.9 v. 13--18

The ancients knew of this phenomenon, and named it foolishness, or lack of common sense, personified here as a malicious and deceptive woman. Those who indulge in such behavior, today we call 'gluttons'. We now know about cholesterol and that every pound we carry increases our risk of heart attack, stroke and diabetes. But they knew well enough, then.

No. I assume by your question that you are young. Case in point; I don't think you can make scotch taste better weather you should have it, or not.

I ate my neighbour, last week, and she was tough and gristly. I prefer chicken, though her toes went well at a party with dips.
