When you go down into the negative numbers, which ones are greater?

Example: -7 or -10, Which one would be greater?

-7 is greater.
Traditionally, in positivie numbers, 10 would be greater because IT IS FARTHER FROM 0.
However, in negative numbers (the opposite of positive numbers), -7 is greater, because it is closer to 0.
