He was born in Corsica, then an Italian island - hence his surname was more Italian than French.
By specialisation, he was an Artillery men & in his earlier days as an officer, he fought on foot alongside the infantry was thus nicknamed the litte corporal due to respect from his men.
His first wife was Josephine who didn't bear him any child - which led to his divorcing her & marrying another (can't remember her name).
In 1812, he invaded Russia & was defeated by the Russian winter as well as Russian general Suvorov.
He was captured & sent to Elba island where he sussequently escaped, reformed his army & was again defeated at Waterloo & imprisoned in St. Helen in the middle of the Atlantic where he couldn't escape & died - some say from stomach cancer, & some say from arsenic poisoning.
