Why does he always tilt his head to one side and kind of look down at the ground? He didn't do this in the earlier episodes. Has he developed some sort of strange contortion??

He has a flair for the dramatic - he always has his hand on his hip too when he does it.

Here's a better question - how many times
in one episode does he say the name "Frank"???

He is still embarrassed because his film career was a flop. He left NYPD Blue in it's prime because he thought he was such a huge star that he would be huge in movies. Didn't work out that way did it? He is lucky to have the work he has now, but I don't think he is all that great. There are many actors out there that put him to shame.

Maybe he's trying to imitate Grissom from the original CSI: I was wondering the same thing. It's strange!

I thought he did do that in earlier episodes? any how, what really drives me nuts about his character is his heavily delivered one liners at the beginning of the show before the theme music starts. grrrrrr

With him I think he calls it acting. To me it's just another one of his little annoyances. He also has this smug little smile, and he hardly ever looks at the person he's talking to. I never even liked him in NYPD blue, but at least he didn't have these ticks.

He does do that alot huh? And his one liners get annoying. But I like him because of the concern that he always shows in his eyes and words to the characters in the show that get wronged.

Actually, he has always done it. It is just a little more exaggerated these days. I think because his role calls for more anger and determination this season too.

David Caruso has only one expression that he can portray, this is his attempt to portray it slightly differently as the series goes on.
