Hello, just wondering if you know if you actually ovulate on the day of "peak" cervical mucus or the day after when you start to dry up?? I always thought it was the peak day, but I took a ovulation test and it was positive the day after the peak cervical mucus?? I know that a person typically ovulates around the 13-15 day of her typically 28 day cycle, but just wondering about the cervical mucus and if ovulation is on peak or the day after the peak.

You should have sex when you have the egg white cervical mucus. The sperm can swim very easily in this as well as live up to 5 days. If you wait to have sex afterwards when you have the dry cm then the sperm has a very hard time swimming which means they can only live up to about 5 hours. That is why a lot of times women will have the egg white mucus, have sex, but not get pregnant for a couple days later. The egg white cm allows the sperm to swim to the fallopian tube and pretty much be there when the egg arrives. So (according to Taking Charge of Your Fertility) you can have sex on Monday when you are fertile but not get pregnant til Friday.
