why does my amp keep shutting down after about a min or so? i double checked wires all in right places?

It may be overheating. If there is a thermal cutout that would do it. It could also be a limiter on the output. If your volume is not at max, it could be faulty.

It would help to know what kind of amp (HiFi, guitar, PA ...?)
