The Declaration of Independence was a pretty revolutionary document. It is one of the first written documents where a colony has elected to separate from their native land.

While most of its importance was in the 1700s. It lays much of the framework our culture today. The concepts it brought forth in not having a tyrannical government. That all men are "created equal (which we are still working on)". That when power in government is too great, it is the responsibilty of the people to stand up and say "enough" (we are kinda forgetting that one too).

There are some very important lessons that can be learned from its text. Especially in how goverments are run and how people in democracy should act. Take a gander, read it and live it.

First off if you are from the US you are sad.
Secondly, if anyone answers this question for you they are stupid.

What are you 12? Go do your OWN homework, instead of trying to get someone to do it for you.

Was that long enough? Think your teacher will give me an A+?
