In final fantasy x-2, how do you defeat ifrit?

Ifrit is really weak to Ice, but he absorbs fire attacks. So, use a black mage, white mage/alchemist, and a dark knight. those will usually take him out.

Ixion, much like Ifrit, is very weak to elemental magic, but a different type.Ifrit absorbs thunder attacks, so use water elemental magic with a black mage. Also, have a white mage healing every round and a dark knight slashing away at
Ixion's HP. This will be no trouble, as your black mage will easily take care of things

Since Ifrit is
fire-based, you might want to equip some anti-fire accessories or the Heart of Flame Garment Grid.

Use the most basic sense of strategy: attack, heal, attack, heal.

Ixion:
To make this battle slightly easier, equip a Thunder-absorbing accessory to
each of the the girls. That way Ixion's Thundara would heal you, while you
only need to concentrate attacking. Of course, since its Thundara only appears
once in a while, you'll need to heal yourselves too. You'll get a Soul of
Thamassa and an Unwavering Guard Garment Grid.
