does your 'here and now' occupy most of your waking and sleeping time? or do little bits and pieces of your past frequently resurface and help (or hinder) you?

Another good Question, as usual! :-)) Wow! Thanks for making me think! :-))

My "present" does an excellent job of helping me put my past behind me, for several reasons!

So many mistakes and bad choices (lessons), from which I have learned and grown stronger! lol, I probably will keep making (new) mistakes, but I sure won't make some of the old ones over again! ;-))

There is not much at all about my past that I want to "undo," but there is a whole lot of it that I am glad I do not have to do over again (because I am smarter, and more experienced now)! :-))

I would not have gotten HERE, if I hadn't gone through THAT.

My present is so happy! Family closer, my beloved, learned to know routes around my new (home!) city, have stressed, cried, and PROCESSED some old business, etc.

I have learned to tell myself (when things seem rather grim), "Hey, I've held my head up through worse!" And I HAVE! :-)) Puts things in perspective. Makes me feel like a survivor, NOT a victim.

I am quite content with my day to day life, and, most days I am happy, and I KNOW it. I am able to appreciate the happiness, as it occurs or exists. This is one of the True Secrets Of Existence, I think. "Happiness is not getting what you want, it is wanting what you have."

I have learned what to keep, and what to leave behind (as far as stuff, and, emotionally)!

I have such good things to look forward to! I may have to wait, but they ARE coming! :-))

The love and kind, gentle, oh-so wise, affectionate support of my beloved sees me through when parts of the past rear their ugly heads from time to time. A calm, rational, supportive point of view makes all the difference!

This Question appears to me to be all about FOCUS. What we focus on is what creates our World.

We can choose to focus on the negative, and be miserable; or focus on the positive, and be happy. What we look for is what we will find!

Me, I say, Live, Learn, Let Go, Grow, and Go On! :-))

Anyone who is practical will never think of the past but few people still dwell in the past. Its really good to recollect some fond memories you have with friends & family. Like for me, its mostly the present but at some leisurely times wen i am not entwined with the present, little bits of past resurfaces & I feel good to remember that. days gone are always good, that never come back in your life again, so why not live them in your memories.

13 Thumbs down? lol. Someone is obsessed with you. Yes, present keeps me busy. Indifference sometimes helps too.... I just don't look at the voices and pictures and they blur in a few moments.
