I am running Windows 2000 and need to know how to transfer my files except for the OS from my master drive to my slave drive.

Right click the file or folder and copy, open the slave drive in mycomputer and paste.

By moving the jumper into the slave position--assuming it's an IDE drive. SATA drives do not have master/slave modes.

The easiest method would be to copy all the files you want to transfer and paste them there; and then delete them at the master location.

too bad you dont have a backup drive in your same hard drive like it is divided into two partitions in the hard drive so if you reformatted your computer, your second partition that you didn't touch will not be affected and you will still have everything in that you need

Copy and paste, or click and drag. Either one of these will work. Don't mess with files that you don't know of about what they are.

You can use the windows migration wizard which does a nice job.
