Because something about the juice makes it so that the jello doesn't set. It actually says this right on the jello box. I don't know WHY this is, but check out a box of it next time you see it in the store.

Because you need to take the time to let the pineapple maserate in a sugar solution and then pat it dry first and like you have already been told people are too lazy.

It contains an enzyme that interferes with the jelling process, so the Jello won't set properly.
