My 11 month old daughter was born with redish veins on her cheeks and eyelids. My doctor hasn't said anything about them, so I am not worried. But I was wondering if anyone else had children with these veins, and if they went away as they got older. I myself have a small purple vein around my cheek as well. Oh and what causes these veins? Are they broken capilaries?

They are under her skin, and they probably show because her skin is still translucent. Just make sure she gets some sun every now and then.

The veins will go away because my cousin had veins like that, he is now 5 years old, your daughter has not gotten enough color on her skin yet to cover them up.

This is not a good place to ask about the health of your daughter if I as a parent was wondering about the health of my child I would take to the DOCTOR not ask on a stupid computer at Yahoo.ASK A DOCTOR.If you read above they all had cousins that had this or that For the sake of the child take her to the doctor if it is something that can be helped it needs to be now not to late. The reason I say this my Grandson had something live you are talking about they took him to a Dr.they used a laser on him at a very young age now he is 6 it is almost all gone.

It could be a few different things. My cousin has red and purple colored ones around her chin since birth and haven't gotten any better. But I was born with pinkish looking ones on my eyes and they aren't there any more so you never know. Most are see-able because they are so close to the skin, like on your arms or legs. Good Luck.

if the vein is near your mouth, that's natural. My son has one and it hasn't killed him. If your daughter has redish eyelids, that's ok becuz a lot of ppl have em. shoo, i do! Ppl have blood in their eyes, and the veins are connected to her stomach and whatever happens to her stomach, like if it growls, it sends that feeling through her eyes into her brain, therefore she'll say, "I'm hungry" or something. I hope this really helps for u.
