Tell him how you feel and just ask for a break. If you need to start spending more and more time apart first. Also you may ask him to not do certian things for you that he is doing. If you talk to him about how you feel it would be allot easier. You may find that he is just trying to hard to impress you cause he thinks your so great. Tell him to give you just a little more space that you feel overwhelmed and you might start getting along better.

I think you are trying to convince yourself that the reason you don't want to be with him is because you don't deserve him. It sounds like you just don't want to be with him regardless if he's the greatest boyfriend or the worst wife beater. Break up and don't waste his or your time.
