Not insulting Americans or anything or anything, but most American comedies are crap.
The only thing from America I can actually laugh at is the Simpsons.

I have to admit our sitcoms aren't as good as they used to be, and the Simpsons is one of the best shows ever. If it's any consolation, us Americans don't find English things funny, so perhaps it's a clash of cultural humor. South Park and Family Guy and anything on adultswim tends to be good if you like animated comedies.

I agree most of our current comedies are crap but.
The THREE STOOGES are comedy geniuses and are fully American. They are also the original situation comedy players. First in short movies then later on TV.
And in between we've had some other good shows that are still on in repeats.

you poor thing..you've never seen Seinfeld? but you are right, generally american comedies are rip offs of UK shows. and not as good either, I might add. desperate housewives sucks big time, but I totally loved footballers wives and was so disappointed when it got the boot!
