Okay, we learn something at school, and we practice it well there as well. What is the point of us doing it again at home? I understand they want us to make sure we learn it. But why should we have all of this stress and work to do when we are at home, from a rough day at school. I don't mind if they make school start at 7AM, and end at 4 or 5PM. But I don't think we should have all of that stress. I mean, sure, at home, we should have to study for a test, do a major project or essay, but why all these practice things?

I think homework is sometimes unnnecessary, but I think it pays off in the end, or on a test or quiz that you did it and because of it you understand it!

Homework shouldn't be stressful. It's just an extension of school time as otherwise the cost of running the school would be too much. Also consider it a privilege. Here's all these people trying to educate you as much as possible so you don't grow up as a dumbass and end up unemployed or in a crappy job and here's you not appreciating it. The choice is yours, dumb or smart. I know which I chose at school and it worked out fine. It will for you too if you work hard.

I don't have any kids, but from everything I have seen and read, it seems like they give kids too much homework these days. I think some homework is good b/c you get to practice later what you learned at school and that helps you to retain better what you learned. But c'mon people, don't stress the kids out!

stop whining. you would be stupid without homework. you would be whining if they ended at 4 or 5 dont say that. you practice so that it sticks in your head. you know how when someone is about to do something they say, i've done this a million times and then they do it perfect? that's what the teachers want.

I think its stupid... and I'm in college! Of course its good for practice, and I think minimal homework would be fine, but teachers tend to load it on too heavily- especially in middle and high school.

Just to keep you busy at home. I hated homework myself. it interfered with the only "me time" I would have at home.
