Don't laugh----but I used to keep equation charts posted in the bathroom when I was in grad school, so as to have some hope of memorizing the $&^$#&% things and SOMEHOW pass statistics!
Consider keeping a wordlist or flash cards in the bathroom (assuming that you have more than one in your house!)---and study when you're taking a bath. Sure beats looking at the wallpaper.
Good luck!

There are a lot of ways to memorize stuff.
One can be like a story. It is called linked lists.
You make up a dumb story that links stupid stuff together.
I say stupid so you will remember it better. Like the purple refridgerator has polka dot onions sitting in blue banana pudding.
You can get a whole linked story to memory very quickly.
Another way is to connect things to places you already know exist.
Like think of walking into your house. Look to the right and follow the wall. In every chair, on every window, lamp door etc mentally put an object. Then mentally walk around and pick the up for your test. There is a guy named Kevin Tudeau who has a program called Mega memory. Here is some discussion about it
http://www.thememorypage.net/mega.htm
He teaches tricks like that.

this sounds like a lot of work, but it works miracles for memorizing words. first, get a big white board and some dry erase markers. for every word in the 'group' that you need to memorize draw a picture (it can be totally random, link it something that sounds the same, for example, ambience and ambulance) and find a way for that picture to define the word for you (draw the space outisde of the ambulance, and youll remember that ambience means surrounding environment). And after youve done that for all the words, link all of the pictures together into one big story. Its fun to do with a friend, and youll never forget those words.

Try mnemonics. Make stupid words or phrases with the first letters of the words you need to remember. Also, try drinking more water. The brain needs water to work better and it will help you memorize anything. Check the book "Learning with the Brain in Mind" it has a lot of techniques that can help you.

I make little stories up about the word. So if it was Spanish for 'apple'...'manzana' I'd think of a 'man' called 'Zane' eating an apple.
It kind of sticks in your head better if you make something creative out of it... even if it makes no sense to anyone but you.

a strong portion of do is to positioned the imformation you recognize into communities that are relative to one yet another. Then affiliate those communities with something else. opt to memorize a attractiveness you could affiliate it with a tale or a humorous note that ought to spark your memory once you note it.

color code the words (i did that for my psych classes)...in chunks. i suggest that you split the list into 3. learn the words over a 3-day span so it's not all thrown @ u @ once.
