I use Skype at school and when I delete my chat history and go to the recicle bin, I find it empty. The computers are in a network and we have no access to disk C. Do you think the computer staff has access to everything I delete or have on my documents? The Skype files are encoded and cannot be opened just by anyone. Do you think there is a program that opens them and that someone at school might have it?
Thank you and I thank those who have given me their answers already.

Yes there are programs that allow you to read archived session.
The computer staff has access to anything they want.
But I higly doubt the computer staff is gonna take the time to sift through your chat archives or history unless you are doing wrong

Just because you are paranoid it doesnt mean that they arent out to get you.. !!!

seriously though... best thing you can do is swap all the network cables and stuff, then pour coffe and stuff in the keyboards, and they will be busy for days sorting all those problems out.

When normality returns, they will just want to sit back and chill... they dont want to be sifting through screenfulls of chat history....

There will be a record of the history on the main server. If you have been naughty the records will still be there. If you have been carrying out illegal activities and your caught you can be sure that the police will investigate your records are on the schools computers.

Ok in amendment:

Your network will use a periodic back up which you will not be aware of. This will include recycled files.
But.. Im sure you have nothing to worry about. System Admin will have enough to do without worrying about your deleted files.

I think you need more computer classes. Of course the administrator can get at your files.
