I am 15 years old, and my dad is a great guy, a policemen, my stepmother lives with me and so does my stepsister (she is also 15). They also have a 1 year old. She doesnt help him pay the bills, she works full time, and all she helps with is for grocies, she spents all her money on concert tickets for her daughter. I'm really not Jelous or anything, but it kills me because my dad pays for everything, he has to work 2 jobs, he is a patrolmen and he works as a chief at a small police department. He doesnt have the time or money for me, that's fine, but I just know they are unhappy, they fight all the time, and the only reason they are staying married is for thier son?...what should I say to him, and how can I help him out?

well the only advise i should give you is be a good daughter to him, your dad will know when time comes that he needs to put his foot down and work these problems with your stepmom you should not involve in any of this because that will give him more headache (in a good way) because i know that fact that your dad loves you and just you only, also he needs to support his son with her so he's doing his job by working two jobs, it's hard i know but sometime in life we just have to sacrafied things to have what we want, you can help him out by cheer him up when he's down. give him the love that he needs from you as a daughter and tell him everyday how much you proud of him and love him, you seems like a good girl and have a good understanding about the situation your dad is in so give him some courage and make him smile. good luck hon and keep up the good works

This was the sweetest question i have read on here. Hun all you need to do is let your dad know that you are thankful for all that he does to make your life better. Then ask him is there anything that you can do to help. I think that it is great that you care so much about your dad and his feelings. My guess is he will get tired of this on his own one day. All you need to do is let him know that you see all the hard work he does to make life better for everyone....Good job kid-o...Keep it up...Your dad has got to be very proud of you cause i am a parent i am proud of you...

Every day, tell him that you love him. That will mean more to him than anything else in the world.

The rest of that stuff is between them. You can't help and you can't change it. You are not supposed to have to worry about stuff like that.

Your dad is a grown man,as much as it hurts to see him go through this, there isn't anything you can do but love him and be supportive to him.
