don't do it, you'll never leave the house again!! LOL, it lets you record regular t.v. as you watch something else, you can ff or rewind through commercials. i used to have it, then i decided i hate television so got rid of it. it really makes you watch more t.v.

It's basically a recording program set up for your TV in which you can tape about any program and have it saved to your TV (you can save it permanently or delete it later if you wish) and watch it as many times as you want.
You can save several programs at a time, and you can order a "Season Pass" to tape the entire season of a favorite show. TiVo also allows you to pause and rewind in the middle of a show, and fast-forward through commercials.

there's a monthly price attatched to it though.
I pay enough for cable, if I miss a show, I'm not paying more to catch it later.
