Eucalyptus tea. I find it a bit harsh plain so I will double tea it with licorice root. Licorice root is great for sore throats and stomach issues. It is very sweet and tastes nothing like licorice itself. I hate licorice candies/flavoring.
We all know the effects of eucalyptus. The 2 together is my at home remedy. Usually you can find these teas in a homeo store.
Good luck
Oh, the other stand by is just regular tea with fresh lemon. I will grate lemon peel into my cup, fill it with water and heat it up in the microwave. wait for a little bit, strain the peel and add your tea bag.

Vick's on your forehead and nose- I know it smells awful, but try to stick it out.
Run a vaporizer- Now they make waterless ones that plug right into the wall outlet like a night light. They are only $7 or $8, adn work really well.
Steaming hot shower- Try those new Vicks tablets that you put in the shower, the water will help the tablet release the vapo steam. Or, you can use Vapobath and take a hot bath. It is sold in the baby dept, but it works just as well for adults!
Chicken soup- the hot broth will make your nose run.
If all if these remedies fail, you can always try NyQuil. It will knock you out and when you wake up, your head will usually be cleared out! Good luck! Also, remember to rest and drink plenty of fluids!

New product called Cold MD shortens the duration of the cold. Do not use nose spray as that can cause more congestion. Vicks may help I prefer the cream version than the grease. Hot liquids help the throat and the steam will help you breath easier. Luckily colds aren't forever you may have to suffer through it for a few days. Sorry honey....

I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling poorly, sometimes the "common" cold can make us feel "uncommonly" misrable. I have found a nicle long hot shower a great way to clear your head. "Vicks" vapor rub works well but it really smells nasty.... :(. But as they say any port in a storm! I hope you feel well soon and just remember this too shall pass.

cool mist humidifier in your room at night. Taking a short walk in the cool air at night. Lots of water. Ask pharmacist for best medicine for the symptoms you have. At our house we take three different ones.... three different people!
