I politely asked this person to go away after our friendship was dissolved a year ago, tried ignoring emails, blocked them as spam & now they've started a new tactic, email from new addresses. Is it time to tell them to f*Ck off? I don't think tactful will get the job done.

personally i think a firm "f*ck off" is polite. a person should know exactly where they stand with you, otherwise its just a guess on their part. most, but not all, people arent that good at guessing,, or at least filled high enough with self doubt they dont think they are.

Politely ask them to go away for a second time. If it still doesn't work, then just block their new email address as well... or you can change your email addy instead. It's kind of hard to control whether or not someone sends you messages/emails online. That has to suck... sorry they didn't get the message the first time around :( Good luck!

Its hard to judge with the information given, like why you stopped talking in the first place? but if I had someone that bothered me so much that I put them on my spam filter I would definitely tell them im considering a restraining order against them. that should back them off.

Just be honest. And if it persists, it could be classified as stalking. That's why they make restraining orders.
