I'm in 8th grade & I already know what career path and University I want to take part in. I want to become a Lawyer and go to either Duke or Yale University...I've always gotten A's & B's on my report card & everyone says I'm really smart. I've been in some form of Advanced Math my whole life.I'm taking Freshman Algebra right now in 8th grade. I guess may question is do you think I am too young to be thinking about college and the rest of my life or not?

no thats such a dumb question. i knew since i was about 9 years old that i want to be a dentist. and im going to school for it. im 23 now. i always knew. just keep in mind you want that enough to not screw up. look i had 3 kids. 1 at 18, 1 at 20, and 1 at 22. and im barely going to school. stay on the right path.

You are not too young to think about it, but I agree with some of the others. Keep your eyes open for other interests, nothing worse then going through all that schooling for a job you hate in the end. Keep and eye on your distant goal, but remember that you are only in 8th grade and have 4-5 years before you have to set your path. Also look into the million different options you have as being a lawyer.... what interests you and what type of lawyer do you want to be.

No, it is never to early to begin think about a career chose, but don't shut the door on other careers just yet. More that likely your going to change your mind a few times, and if you want to go to Duke or Yale you better score well on your SAT/ACT or know someone. Good luck with your dreams and don't forget to have fun in your youth. Life is to short.

No, I don't think you're too young to start thinking about it, but enjoy your age, too. Have fun and don't be too serious all the time. The "rest of your life" will come soon enough.

Its never to young to start thinking about what you plan to do when you get older, but just remeber that as you grow older, your ambitions may change and so may your goals.
