You'd seem really rude to me if you ignored me. [I know you aren't.]

The least I'd want to see out of a aquaintance is a simple smile, wave or a "Hi!". Common courtesy, you don't have to talk! Plus, if you wish to get out of a conversation, you could say, "I have to go to my next class now, see you later." [Or something similar]

I mean, think about it. They were nice enough to come up to talk to you, especially since you were new to the school. Surely a simple "Hi." won't harm right?

I don't live in America- gladly. I'm saying so because I love my own country! I would like to travel to there to see what it's like though. (:

Cheers&
Be nice!! (:

Yes that is a way of telling a person that you do not like them and that you do not care to be around them in America. All you need to do is start going around them and let them know that you do not know what to say and why.Americans has understanding. All they are going to do is want to be around you even more so that you can start feeling comfortable around them and comfortable talking to them.So just go over and talk to them and let them know.We are very fun people to be with, all you have to do is explain the situation to them and they will understand.

They may think that you are being rude. You should explain to them, that since this is not your native culture, you have some trouble knowing what to talk about. If you're up-front and honest, I'm sure they would understand. And they'll probably find plenty for you all to talk about together. = ) Good luck!

Just say that they'll need to understand that you're new and don't understand everything yet. i just immigrated from South Africa to Canada, and things are very different here too.
They'll understand. Just be nice to them.

Yes, they probably think your avoiding them... try and communicate with them and tell them how you feel, if you let them know they will be understanding... Then they could teach you how to communicate withing each other.
