7 yrs ago, I was in a car accident. For 5 yrs I couldnt even walk a mile due to the injury to my back. Stress, depression set in, I coudn't be physical anymore. I went to numerous dr's and neurologist, finally after 5 yrs I went to the back institute and they gave me an injection into my spine, a pain blocker. IT was fixed! but I was so set in my bad habit it continued.

2002 oct, I got fed up with weighing 250 pounds ( im five foot 6) and went on atkins, in 5 months I lost 54 pounds. I became pregnant, had my baby, lost all the weight but 9 pounds. 5 months after my son was born I was pregnant again, lol. This time the weight didnt come off because I couldn't nurse my daughter like I did my son. So here I am overweight again. I have alot of stress and I use food to comfort me.We found out in March my son has mild autism, I put weight on after that cause I dealt with that through eating. Im overweight but I still run and play with my kids

I'm praying I can do better everyday! I want to lose 100 pounds by next summer and I know I can do it!

I was raised in a nightmare of a family and I think I learned to use food to fulfill what was missing. Also I was molested as a child. Many woman use being obese as protection from men. I associate food with love, happiness, depression, sadness, celebrating, mourning etc. It's like self medicating oneself. It offers comfort. I don't eat because I'm hungry like most people. It's a disease and fortunately our nation has recognized the severity of obesity in our country. I was a skinny Minnie my entire life, but with age and metabolic changes my bad eating habits have caught up with me... I'm 5'7 235lb. I'm currently enrolled in a gastric bypass class to prepare for the surgery. I've lost 18lbs as the class requires you loose 10% of you body weight to ensure a safer surgical experience.

Thanks for caring,
