Yes, America should make Halloween a National Holiday with all the perks. There should be parades and stuff. More national holidays will help to bring the different ethnicities of America under a common cultural heritage and the extra shopping time will help the economy. Look at all the vacation time Europeans get, and they aren't slackers in the global economy. Time off is good for people and good for retailers.

Yes, but part of the fun of halloween is going to work or school in your costume. It would just be odd sitting at home on Halloween, or shopping. Christmas is religious, and so are most other holidays that we get the day off for, but National Holidays usually celebrate Martin Luther King or Christopher Columbus or so on. Halloween doesn't really have a good excuse like that.

Halloween IS a holiday. First of all i think Halloween should be on Fridays or Saturdays because people go trick or treating at night. I personally think that's why we don't get a day off from school BECAUSE you go at night. And i like dressing up for Halloween, i don't think of it as an evil holiday, those who think it is, are probably too into seeing "evil" instead of looking for good things. And to answer your second question JESUS IS WAY MORE IMPORTANT THAT AMERICA!
PS:i am american, but I'm God's daughter first!

Good idea, but the day after would be a better idea. Think of all the booze they would sell - it would be like another New Year's Day. They could have football games for all the hung over people, and after Halloween sales, or better yet, kick off the Christmas sales. And the only people that could object on religious grounds would be people that don't like Pagans. So the Democrats won't object. Your idea works for me, I'll vote for you when you run for Congress.

For all the non believers out there Jesus is watching and listening, maybe when u are on your death bed than U will be asking god for forgiveness. And no halloween should not be a national holiday. If they were going to make it a national holiday they would have done it a long time ago.when I was a child i wished it was a holiday too.

YES! it should be, heck we spend all month getting ready for it then still have to work and go to school on this freakin day. I love Halloween, I just wish it lasted longer than just 1 day.

Of course it should be. Halloween when I look back on being young was one of my favorite times. It's not the same anymore like it use to be!

I'd say! And so should Valentine's day (those in love needs to be together for this special day, and the singles would need a day off to heal their broken hearts), President's Day, Mayor's birthday, Christmas eve and Boxing day :P
