hahaha, omg that's funny... I guess it's because turtle sex is for the specific purpose of making more turtles, rather than a power related thing.

That is not a rape. That is a perfectly normal tortoise mating routine. It may look funny or sad to humans, but it is how that species has done it for eons.
In the video, we see a mount, followed by some ramming, then a short 'chase', another mount, etc. If the female was disinterested, she would not have responded. Male turtles may try to mount a disinterested female (sometimes out of dominance), but she just walks away. Moreso than most animals- if the female turtles does not want it, it does not happen.
This is a simple nature film, showing perfectly normal behaviors. If some people see it as funny, that is their taste (or lack thereof). If some see it as sad or tragic, that is due to their lack of knowledge about the topic. At least a lack of knowledge can be fixed!

No kidding. Did you see the new undercover video from the Butter Ball factory? These a** holes hang the turkeys upside down, use them as punching bags, stomp them to death, and rape them with objects...all the time laughing.
Worst part, it is perfectly legal. There are no laws protecting animals used for food. Sick.

You are so right animals should be treated with respect not as toys and if the tortoise is raping the other one separate them IT ISN'T RIGHT!
