i understand that if u choose to apply for early decision and get accepted, you have to withdraw your applications from other schools and everything... by applying early you're showing you really want to go to their school and im just wondering if that would influence their decision of accepting you or not...thanx =]

Definitely will help you out a lot because it shows to the school that it is your first choice, and in return, it'll also be interested in you. For example, the acceptance rate for Cornell's early decision is about 40% while regular decision is 20%.

by applying early decision to selective colleges your applciation is in a smaller pool of applications and possibly you have a slightly higher chance of getting admitted than if you applied under regular decision. however, a lot of the ivies are getting rid of early decision due to financial aid.

IT does influence the decision some, you will have a substantially better class...however, as the other answerer said, many schools are doing away with that and opting for admission on a strictly rolling basis good luck!
