I have a Dell XP400 and would like to get a wireless router for my old computer. The "old" computer has Windows 98. It list Window 98SE on some of the wirless router boxes as a requirement. I don't know if that is compatable. Can someone recommend a compatable wireless router system? Thanks

I think almost any and every router will work on Windows 98, if you configure it right. Your ISP should be able to give you the necessary settings to help you configure your router.

The three links given below will help you understand the functioning of routers, windows and routers and finally the comparative prices of different brands.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Linksys is the best out there - sometimes a little more expensive, but they make a quality product. Don't get sucked into some off-brand deal - you'll be buying a new one in six months.

Keep watching the prices. Often you can get one for free with mail in rebates at the big box stores (that is how I purchased mine). Any brand should work with your computers listed.
