Answer 1

1. The dwarves left a note saying when to meet them, and he only had 10 minutes to be on time.

2. He left without money, walking stick, pocket handkerchiefs, or a hat. One of the dwarves lent him a hood and cloak (slightly too big for him).

3. Bilbo started wishing to be home when it started raining (just before they met the trolls).

4. Gandalf saved the company from the trolls by "throwing" his voice and keeping them arguing until sunrise.

5. They took food, gold, and weapons from the trolls' cave.

6. Elves live in Rivendell, Bilbo thought them to be a bit nonsensical, but liked hearing them sing. The dwarves don't trust them.

7. Elrond is master of Rivendell. He identifies Orcrist and Glamdring and shows the company the moon-runes on Thorin's map.

8. Durin's Day is the dwarves new year. It's the day the 1st moon of Winter and the last sunset of Autumn are in the sky together (or something like that).

9. They went into the cave to get out of the storm and away from the giants.

10. Bilbo dreamed a crack opened up in the back of the cave.

11. Surprise...Goblins live there.

12. The goblins did not get Gandalf.

13. They're cruel, like machines and engines, have large, flat feet,...and 2 other things I can't think of.

14. He saw Thorin carrying Orcrist, and elven sword used to great effect in the Goblin Wars.

15. Gandalf made some nifty magic, causing the lights go out and they ran off.

16. Biter and Beater were the swords (Orcrist and Glamdring) that Thorin and Gandalf took from the Trolls' cave.

17. Ultimately, they endedup in a bunch of trees, surrounded by wargs and goblins, and were saved by the eagles of the Misty Mountains.

18. Dori and Bilbo were grabbed form behind. Dori got away, but Bilbo fell and banged his head and eventually made his way to Gollum's lake and then the back door.

This is your second "do my Hobbit homework for me" question. You got lucky the first time, but you'd really do better to read the book - it's a great read, and not that difficult, it was my regular bedtime story when I was eight.....

Besides - how do you know an answerer who does answer all 18 questions isn't just making stuff up to get your 10 points - if you don't read the book you'll be pretty easily tricked, right?
