If the fixture has no metal parts it does not need to be grounded. DO NOT cut off the ground wire. The fixture could be changed in the future and need the wire. Since it is an end run, there are no other grounds to connect it to, so just leave it in the box. The ground is probably a bare wire, and putting a wire nut on it would be silly. Even if it is a green wire, it does not need a wire nut. It should be kept away from any exposed terminals for circuit conductors.

If the porcelain fixture does not have either a ground screw or a ground wire to attach the ground to just leave it in the box but put a wire nut on the ground wire and stuff it far enough back in the box to prevent that wire from touching the hot switch leg and creating a short.

If there is no ground wire coming into the box from the feed side to connect the ground wire from the recepticle too, then just cut it off. It isn't doing any good just laying in the box.
