I can't believe this is a real question....First of all, I've seen plenty of attacks coming from the Conservative side, many of which are personal, in retaliation for offense or simply to target. That is a two way street and this question is a shining example. Anytime you categorize people and fault an entire group for the actions of a few, you're asking for defensiveness from those you've collectively accused. Secondly, criticizing the President is not at all anti-American. It's rightful. Would you really rather see everyone just shut up and let things happen whether they believed it or not? That would be a disaster. And very anti-American. I'd like to know what you're defining as 'reason' here because I really can't see where you're coming from.

Well, I am not a liberal. More of a traditional conservative of the Pat Buchanan vein (but without the anti-semitism.)

But I think that in fact that reason suggests that, for the moment, it is time for the sun to set on Republican control of all three branches of government for a while.

What are those reasons?

1. It is not really good for one party to totally dominate a government's body politic. It is as Truman said, "power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." Complete Republican control is the only reason that the Abramoff scandals and the Foley scandal could metastasize in such malignant proportions. A little bit of opposition would have kept that in check.

2. It is time to accept that GW Bush and his cabinet members have mis-managed the Iraq war. Rather than going after the target where he knew the 9/11 mastermind lived (Bin Laden), he starved that mission of resources while Iraq was being hatched. As a result Bin Laden escaped at Tora Bora. Today, the Iraqi insurgency is gaining and gaining strength, troop deaths are at levels unseen since Vietnam, and the Federal treasury has been drained to near bankruptcy proportions (ensuring a higher tax burden than would have been necessary for decades to come.) The new book by Bob Woodward "State of Denial" portrays a defense secretary who threw the dice on his plans for a "rolling start" military, and lost. And he portrays a president incapable of the curiosity necessary to realize that his defense secretary is a failure.

3. The Abramoff scandal shows that, like all long time governing parties, the Republican party has had some rot set in. Pork and bank-rolling of lobbyists pet projects has been the rule, not the exception. Smart citizens look at such a natural governing party and ask themselves if perhaps it is time to give them a break from governing, to allow them to find their soul. I believe reason suggests such a time has come.

Give an example of how liberals are unreasonable.

Second attacking Republicans or the president is not un-American.

In fact, questioning any form of power is totally the American thing to do.

We questioned King George III, we questioned slavery, we questioned the corporate monopolies.

Questioning power is our fundamental right as citizens.

Secondly, what makes you think liberals are evil. The Bible praises them.

If you truly think liberals are evil, you need to stop listening to Fox News, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, and the like.

They are right-wing propagandists.

Besides, did it ever occur to you the GOP is not perfect and that Bush has many things to be accountable for? There are valid reasons for questioning the GOP and the Bush administration.

Hell, question Democrats too.

Never trust a politician. Be he/she a Democrat or Republican.

Lets see, I have been called a democrap, commie, loser, atheist, baby killer actually everything but what I am and that is a concerned citizen and nobody has offered up an apology. I disagree with the repuglican philosophy of aiding the rich and abandoning the poor and middle class. In other words supply side economics. I disagree with the war in Iraq. I do not like the direction that the president has taken this country and I do not like the redefining of the constitution that is going on. That makes me a traitor in the eyes of the repuglican masses on yahoo answers. That is why I cut no slack for any of them. Any other questions.

It relies upon on the place you're from. i'm a liberal from Mississippi, so I particularly have rather some journey with hateful conservatives, yet i'm particular that if i replaced right into a conservative in New Jersey the place all of us is liberal... i does not precisely be welcomed with open hands. cyber web conservatives, on the different hand, are many times rather hateful persons, nonetheless cyber web liberals are not precisely the nicest people in the international. i could argue, nonetheless i'm biased, that conservatives are somewhat worse. the cyber web does not seem to help with people being staggering to a minimum of one yet another frequently... Anywho, this is humorous to work out each and every of the solutions to this question and it kinda proves my element that cyber web conservatives are many times a tad bit greater hateful than cyber web liberals. Conservatives, many times for sure, do seem to rely greater on the liberals are destroying the rustic than liberals declare conservatives are destroying the rustic (this may be because of the fact a liberal is in workplace nonetheless, as in the Bush years liberals possibly concept he replaced into destroying the rustic), which lead them to seem greater hateful.

Takes one to know one. If the average worker is doing a lousy job, they get fired, what's their excuse? So far they have used everthing BUT reason. Murder maybe, but no reason.
And btw; your use of the word 'liberal' is just a tool to agitate, and has no relation to the real 'world'.
What is un-American about practicing your constitutional rights? It seems you have been misinformed.

You are so right. I looked at the first 3 answers, and they couldn't be further from the truth. What you have stated, for the most part IS true. The liberals can't admit fault, have horrible morals, and continually attack the prez. When Clinton was in office, I sure as heck respected him, cuz he was our prez. I didn't aggree with anything he did cuz he was soo stupid, but I had respect for the prez. The liberals are constantly attacking the conservatives. They are filled with so much hate. Now, we can go back and forth with dems and reps, and both will say that the other is wrong and evil, but what it comes down to is the morality behind it. It's fine to believe what you wanna believe, as long as it isn't illegal, immoral, or unsafe. Those are the 3 rules. ( good one, pops, I love ya)
But anyway... I am glad that SOMEONE out there finally agrees that the liberals are insane.. ugh

Good question. Good luck on getting reps to answer ya, it's all gonna be a lot of liberals that are consumed with hate for you..lol.. hang in there..I'm pullin for ya

NO! Criticizing the current leadership of the U.S. is NOT, under ANY circumstances, UN-American. It is completely acceptable, as guaranteed by the 1st Amendment of our Constitution, as well as other places (current laws, etc.)

It's not un American, it's free speech protected by the First Amendment. Unless you want to change the definition of what it means to be an American or to live in America. Do you?

When the day comes that promoting a different point of view is all you have to do to be 'un-American', we are all in big trouble.

Isn't that what being American is, to be free to have a point of view without being persecuted?

You need to start opening your eyes and thinking for yourself.
