Once upon a time, when I was in school, I made a volcano out of water, flour, canned heat, and yellow, red, and blue food coloring. I left an opening in the back of the volcano where I could light the canned heat, and at the top of the volcano it covered a small tin or metal can, like an emty potted meat can, or vienna sausage to put the colored lava, sorta thick, gravy like substance made out of flour, water and food coloring. This has been about a hundred and fifty years ago but I did when 1st prize. They now have a lot of craft stuff at Hobby Lobby, or Wilsons, even at dollar stores you can use for any science project. The paper I wrote on it, I don't remember the names of the boioks, but you can get them at any library.
