I don't think we should... Schools are supported mostly by property taxes... In my State, we are the low end of the receiving end, while we raise the lion's share of the taxes...

What are parents for, anyway...

No--- It all depends on the district and the amount of tax dollars that come in to support them.

But if I have to pay much higher taxes because of my property value, then my dollars ought to stay in my district.

The amount spent on each child is not necesarily a predictor of how well the education is either. There are other social and economic factors that affect education quality-- if that's what you're getting at.

Of course not. Public schools in rich areas spend a great deal more money than a poorer area.

If you are rich and have a lot of money you would probly get high teck stuff. Mabe a computer notebook. But others would get a caculator, 3 paper notebooks, and pencils. It doesn't really matter what supplies you have.

No most of the money never even gets to the schools.The amount varies from state to state and often from district to district.

no way the people with political influence and the ones with money get all the good things and the poor people's children get what is left. If you doubt my word just come to crossville tn and look at how the children are treated in school. If you do not want to come to crossville then go to byrdstown Tn and see how they do it. The doctors children get the scholarships and the one who needs them go o n without any.

And thats the problem. Most of the money that people claim gets spent on the "children" isnt spent on the children.

no it is the average of all students verses the exspense of providing buildings land books teachers and everything associated with education including the administration and retirement of students .If you knew the current actual cost of providing just teachers and schools and not all the benefits and liberal retirement you would be shocked .
