better. How horrible....the terror those Amish girls must have felt. I hope God is taking care of them, and their families. Damn, it make me sick.

*sigh*

I know what you mean. Used to be it was other school children doing the shooting. Now we have grown men doing it. And if any school should be safe from violence of this sort, you'd thing an Amish school would be. If I still had school-aged children I think I'd give serious consideration to home schooling them. My niece and her 6 children live in the Lancaster, PA area. She drove within 2 miles of that school this morning. I don't know if she knows any of these families, but she does work with the Amish. She called her mom, my sister, asking for prayers for the Amish community and the families of these girls. We must keep them all in our prayers!

I agree with you. The sad thing is, most people think it got started with Columbine back in 1999, when there have been a number of other school shootings before that.

Many people have come to blame the music, television shows, movies, video games, etc that children play and listen to. I personally think that is the cowardly way of acting. Think about it like this, how many other people watch, listen to, or play the same games and don't go killing others.

It actually makes me wonder what I can do as a future parent to ensure that my children don't act like this. I also wonder if these children that do the school shootings every got punished when they were younger.

It is so sad. My twin Boys just started Kindergarten and if I thought that I was qualified enough I would home school. I just know that their teacher does a better job.

I'm sure that God is taking care of them and also their families. Their community must be so sad and upset. It is such a tragedy.

The most important reason to home-school is because children get a REAL education at home. Home-schooled kids are wiser, more disciplined, and outperform the average public school kid consistently.

Being safe with an armed parent at home is a secondary reason.

this is not your usual run of the mill school shooting, this guy was married, had three kids and was 34yrs old, seems like something happened to him 20yrs ago and he came back for revenge, what a sicko, keep watching the news I'm sure we will hear more.

It's sick!

But homeschooling is not the answer. Just because a plane crashes does not mean people shouldn't fly anymore.

It's very sad, but only happens in a very small percentage of schools. I think overall kids in school are safe.
