DVD Encoding: Can I play a region 2 dvd?

I just ordered a dvd with region 2: european encoding. I know it won't work in most American dvd players but will it play in my laptop? I would really like to know so I can cancel it if it won't. Thanks!

Many DVD players have a region setting that can be changed with a little bit of effort. You should run a google search on your particular model of DVD-Rom in your laptop and see if it has a region restriction and if it does, how it can be changed.
