There's a girl (Gale, 16 yo) and a boy (Josh, 19 yo). They're dating. Have been for about a year. Gale has had a dream ever since she was a child to start a family of her own. When Gale turned 16, though, about 6 months ago, she suddenly had a strong urge to have a child. Every day she went without a child, she was in horrible, aching pain in her heart and practically her entire body.

Gale's parent didn't care if she got pregnant, just said she couldn't live there anymore. Gale has quite a bit of money in the bank as well, ranging from $36,000 - $60,000 she can touch when she turns 18, and $800 she can touch currently. However, Josh's parents are against the idea of him getting Gale pregnant, and Josh is scared he'd not be able to be a good parent or afford being a good parent, and Josh's parents said they'd throw him out if he got Gale pregnant.

So, Gale decides that her dream isn't worth it. It isn't worth Josh getting scared every time they go into bed together. So she decide-

-s that in 19 months -- about the time she'll turn 18 -- she'll have saved up enough money for getting her tubes tied. Ecstatic with her idea, she tells Josh, who she thinks will be happy as well. Gale is completely willing to give up her dream for children to make sure Josh isn't scared when they make love anymore. But the thing is... Josh wants Gale to get pregnant. Just not yet. About 6 years from now he wants her to be pregnant. But he also realizes -- and acknowledges -- that her wanting a child is more than just a want... it's a biological need, and it's literally in her DNA.

After a long amount of time arguing, Josh gets the logic to ask if there's a way to change Gale's mind. And there is. She said if he could get her pregnant before she had enough money saved up for the surgery, she wouldn't. But she also took the time to point out to him all the thing's he'd have to do, such as getting over his fear, saving up money, convincing her to have sex with him again (she had stop-

All she has to do is save up about $5000 by the end of 19 months. She gets $30 a week from family as an allowance, and gets $50 on Easter, $50 on Christmas, $50 on her birthday, and will get $1000 when she graduates from High School. She also plans on getting a part-time job during the school year, and a full-time job during the summer.

This shouldn't be considered a competition at all...my feelings are with the future child. Games shouldn't be played in a mature & loving relationship.

Either way, the kid loses.

Gale isn't in it to provide for a child, she's in it to provide for her own selfish desires.

Josh isn't into it at all, which means he'll always harbor some resentment towards the child, as well as Gale, he'll never be as good a father as if he chosw to settle down & start a family.

What's a 19-year-old man doing sleeping with a 16-year-old child to begin with? And Gale's parents need their heads examined for telling her it's OK to get pregnate.

I guess it's safe to assume neither the parents nor the children are Christians....

I say they are both giant retards. Just because you don't want kids now, doesn't mean you should have your tubes tied. That's dumb. This question is dumb. And I may even be dumb, just for attempting to provide somewhat of an answer.
